And Thus Ends The Milton Bradley Era in Chicago

18 December, 2009 (13:15) | Chicago Cubs | By: Stormin' Norman Disciple

After an offseason filled with so many rumors that we here at NQTC basically gave up covering it, the Cubs have finally moved Bradley.  It looks like a decent deal for the North Siders, with the Cubs receiving an unknown amount of cash and Carlos Silva in the deal:
The Mariners and Chicago Cubs have announced [...]

Qualified Links

Deron Williams dressed up like a goof with recspecs, a ghostbusters tee, and high socks playing dodgeball.  You have to see it to believe it. [BDL]
I don’t usually link to this kind of stuff, but Maria Sharapova is a real looker. [Sharapova's Thigh]
So the Milwaukee Bucks are still an NBA team, at least for fantasy [...]

Peavy to the South Side?

21 May, 2009 (11:04) | Chicago White Sox, MLB | By: StevieY19

Well, this would be something.  I’m pretty sure there were some rumors of this move over the off-season, but obviously much of the talk of Jake Peavy to Chicago was in reference to the Cubs.
Now it seems that Peavy could be heading to the White Sox as the Sox and Padres have reportedly agreed to [...]

That’ll do Jerry, That’ll do; Update: Orlando Pace

2 April, 2009 (16:40) | Chicago Bears, NFL | By: StevieY19

According to ESPN, the Bears have acquired Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler.  The Broncos get first round picks this year and next year, plus Kyle Orton in the deal.
I’m really shocked by the news.  The Bears always seemed like also-rans in the deal and I really expected Cutler to end up in Washington, Detroit, or even [...]

The Bulls Would Rather Have Chris Bosh Than That Stoud-e-something Guy

2 April, 2009 (11:00) | Basketball, Chicago Bulls, NBA | By: Stormin' Norman Disciple

The playoff race for the Bulls is in full-swing and most of us are preoccupied with the Bulls inevitable fall (by playoff elimination or first-round sweep).  There is some news stirring on the off-season front, however.  Mike McGraw of the Daily Herald reports:
Word is, though, the Bulls would feel much better about acquiring Bosh than [...]

Blackhawks get Their Center

5 March, 2009 (10:00) | Chicago Blackhawks, Trades | By: StevieY19

It was no secret going into the trade deadline that the Blackhawks were in the market for a third line center to complete a team they think can compete for the Stanley Cup.  The deal breaks down as James Wisniewski and minor leaguer Petri Kontiola to Anaheim for center Samuel Pahlsson, minor leaguer Logan Stephenson, [...]

Hawks get Pahlsson for Wisniewski

4 March, 2009 (15:39) | Chicago Blackhawks, Trades | By: StevieY19

More on this tomorrow, but TSN is reporting that the Blackhawks traded defenseman James Wisniewski to the Anaheim Ducks for center Samuel Pahlsson.
Pahlsson has the reputation for being an excellent defensive forward, but has been severely lacking in production the last few seasons.  Wisniewski seemed to fit the mold for a defenseman in Chicago, but [...]

Recently Traded Bulls Still Mostly Playing Like Shit

24 February, 2009 (13:00) | Basketball, Chicago Bulls, NBA | By: Stormin' Norman Disciple

I’m not all that concerned about Chicagoans having remorse over the recent trades, but out of curiosity I looked to see how our old friends were doing on their new teams. As you would expect, they are not doing great.
Larry Hughes:
@TOR—1/9 fgs, 1/3 3pt, 3 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, -8 +/-
vs. IND—2/7 fgs, [...]

Good Riddance

19 February, 2009 (12:40) | Chicago Bulls, NBA, Trades | By: StevieY19

ESPN is reporting that the Bulls and Knicks have agreed to a trade and are awaiting league approval.  The deal would send Larry Hughes (!!!) to the Knicks for Tim Thomas and Jerome James.
So Hughes’ short time with the Bulls has come to an end, and Chicago will welcome James and Thomas.  Is it me [...]

Bulls-Kings Trade: What They’re Saying

18 February, 2009 (17:12) | Uncategorized | By: StevieY19

The Bulls couldn’t lure Amare or Bosh to Chicago, but they made the move for Brad Miller and gave up much less than we were hearing in the process.  Here’s a little taste of how the blog world is reacting…
Tom Ziller at Fanhouse (Kings Fan): The Nocioni acquisition is odd at best for Sacramento; Andres [...]
