While Tyrus has clearly worked on his jumper, it just has not developed into the weapon it needs to be for him to be effective.  We all want him to be able to knock it down, since that will theoretically cause defenders to close out on him, allowing him to attack the basket and score more on ferocious dunks and easy layups.  Unfortunately he has to make the jumpers for the defenders to start D-ing him up.  In that respect, he has been sorely lacking.  This is a Hot Spot chart from NBA.com.  It’s not a pretty picture:

No, Tyrus, blue is bad.  Here’s my advice.  Go back to the gym.  Practice the jump shot.  When it’s ready, start shooting it.  Otherwise, if you are thinking of shooting it in a game, give the ball to Rose and take 5 steps closer to the basket.  Thanks.
