Dennis Rodman is up to his old tricks, although this time it probably wasn’t completely his fault.  Rodman was in the German town of Trier for a “USA Legends of Basketball” exhibition game this weekend.  After the game, he threw a huge party in his hotel room.  While the organizers of the game agreed to pay the hotel bill, apparently that didn’t include the 3,400 Euro liquor bill that Rodman ran up.  When he tried to leave the hotel on Monday morning, that’s when the fun really began:

When Rodman left the hotel Monday morning without paying the tab, the hotel director contacted the police, Bauer said. Police found Rodman’s stretch limo on the highway and detained the star.

Rodman then paid the outstanding bill along with an additional euro1,700 to dismiss possible legal proceedings, the prosecutor said.

So 3,400 Euro is the equivalent of $5,100 American dollars.  That seems a little low for the known party animal that is Rodman.  Apparently it was pretty low for him, since he immediately paid it and was presumably released.  Coming from the guy who is still grabbing women’s crotches, it’s not all that surprising.

Does anyone really doubt that Rodman will eventually be one of those “made millions during his professional sports career but is now completely bankrupt” guys?  I’m not betting against it.
