Oh yeah, that Randy Wells fella. He’ll need to step up as Lilly recovers from surgery and Zambrano is Zambrano. (Midwest Sports Fans)
Enjoy them while you still can Cubs fans, but Derrick Lee and Aramis Ramirez might not be with the team at the end of this season. (i94 Sports.com)

Congratulations to Andre Dawson. The Hawk was always a class act and his numbers and swagger make him an obvious Hall of Famer in my book. My well wishes go out to Bert, Robbie, and Barry who did not make the Hall this year.
Go Hawk!

The acid this guy was on must have been pretty strong. Apparently he was tripping on some LSD when he was locked in a closet with a recorder. This video is the nonsensical crap that came out of his mouth (and for some reason an animated lizard acting it out). Enjoy.
My favorite [...]

We give a lot of crap to Philly fans; getting after them for their willingness to boo McNabb, likely their own children, and Santa, or their affinity for battery tossing and other general assbaggery. Most All of that is well deserved and it’s even good form to make fun of their 10,000 losses. On Wednesday [...]

So these are a day late, but we’re predicting nonetheless. You’ll have to forgive Stormin’ Norman and me because our teams didn’t exactly have uplifting seasons. The Cubs can’t even see the expectations that were set for this season from where they plateaued and the Tigers lost a 7 game lead in a month, then produced [...]

Here’s Gavin’s Midwest Standings and Recap:
Here’s your summary of what happened over the holiday weekend in our respective Divisions:
AL CENTRAL – Not a lot of movement within the division, but bats beginning to heat up.
Detroit (44-37) won first game 11-9 in Minny before dropping the next two games 3-4 and 2-6. Bat .224 on their [...]

Zambrano’s ejection was nothing new from the volatile ace. We’ve seen fights with teammates, Red Bull-fueled tantrums, and screaming matches with whatever or whomever he’s talking to when he yells at the sky. About a week after hearing he was demonstrative toward umps and teammates in his rehab start, Z was tossed yesterday.
The explosion after the [...]

It was a tough day yesterday for the White Sox, losing 20-1 to those pesky Minnesota Twins and getting turned down by Jake Peavy. Here’s a journey into the mind of Jake as the day progressed.
Sometime Wednesday night, Jake hears about the deal from his agent and gets off the phone with Scott Linebrink.
Who [...]

Well, this would be something. I’m pretty sure there were some rumors of this move over the off-season, but obviously much of the talk of Jake Peavy to Chicago was in reference to the Cubs.
Now it seems that Peavy could be heading to the White Sox as the Sox and Padres have reportedly agreed to [...]

So the other day Bobby Jenks threw at Ian Kinsler of the Texas Rangers. Later he admitted that he threw at him intentionally to send a message.
The first thing I thought was good for Jenks for shooting straight, followed quickly by the idea that he would almost certainly be suspended or fined a decent amount. [...]

While there was some speculation about Cubs fans being racist (it was later explained to me that it was not mere speculation), I’m wondering is this a problem unique to Cubs fans, or is everyone just still a little racist? Like are Cubs fans more racist than say…Cardinals fans. It doesn’t look like it:
Hmmm. Here’s [...]

One thing we know about Canada is they love to drink up there. Well for a little while they won’t be enjoying any Molson Canadians at Blue Jay games, due to some crazy fan antics at various events.
First Drew Carey, owner of the MLS team in Seattle, got a beer dumped on him as his team [...]

Opening day was just as amazing as I thought it would be. Here’s a few things that jumped out at me from the Cubs game and around the league.
CUBS
Soriano had a great game, launching the second pitch into the stands. Maybe this guy will be okay hitting leadoff.
2-3-4 (Fukudome, Lee, Bradley) in the order looked [...]

ShysterBall had a post yesterday about the science of pitch counts, citing an article that suggested that teams should look a little more closely at how their pitchers tire during the game. Sometimes a simple pitch count doesn’t tell the whole story.
However, the most interesting part of the post to me was a section that [...]

Don’t ever say we don’t listen to our readers’ input. Due to the bitching and whining of NQTC’s Sox fans, I went out and found someone to write about the South Siders. So here is General Zod, who will be writing once a week about whatever Sox story suits his fancy. StevieY and I will [...]
