Derrick Rose’s Rehab is Going Great….Or Is It?
Reports came out yesterday that everything is amazing on the road to recovery for Derrick Rose. Rose was spotted in Alabama visiting famed orthopedic doctor James Andrews and the team went out of its way to make clear everything was dandy:
The visit to Alabama was reportedly for a consultation only and the team feels that Rose is doing well and has made good progress since beginning his rehabilitation.
I don’t trust the Bulls, and I especially don’t get why they had their team guy Dr. Brian Cole perform the surgery. Why not just have the most renowned surgeon of this kind, Dr. Andrews, perform it? Well Michael Wilbon was on Waddle and Silvy today, and he seemed to think things were not going well. In fact, if you listen to the podcast, Wilbon states that reliable sources close to the situation have told him things are not going well. He will not go so far as to say there were complications (he speculates it may just be the natural ups and downs of recovery from surgery), but it is still cause for concern. I’m sure we will be hearing more about this soon, but for now I am feeling very nervous. I don’t mind if the kid doesn’t come back until 2015, I’m far more concerned that when he does come back, he can return to his superstar form.
UPDATE: The team is further denying that anything is wrong, and KC seems to be confirming it. Hmmm….
