LeBron to Chicago? Get Serious? Wait, You ARE Serious?
With LeBron bombing a second straight game and his Cavs being bounced from the playoffs, the speculation about the future of his career is now reaching a fevered pitch. As July 1 approaches, it will only get crazier. Fans from Cleveland could not imagine that he would leave, fans from New York could not imagine that he would go anywhere else but the Big Apple, and fans from Chicago seem to be on a hope and a prayer. Until the last few days that is. ESPN’s Chris Broussard has shaken up the equation and Chicago fans can only sit back and smile. Sure we thought getting Wade or Bosh would be great, but LeBron? It’s almost unbelievable.
Watch this clip and let yourself believe with Mr. Broussard for just a moment. It’ll make you feel good, I promise:
Sonny Vaccaro, the godfather of shoe deals and amateur basketball, seems to think it could happen too. And of course, some league GMs are buzzing about it as well. But back to reality for one moment. What Broussard doesn’t seem to be taking into account is the turmoil in Chicago’s front office. Sure Jerry Krause is gone, but Reinsdorf is still there and the Pax-Gar management group is flawed at best and incompetent at worst. Also, no coach? The Bulls will need to get that situation resolved quickly and properly if they even hope to lure any free agent, let alone the biggest free agent in the last 10 years.
God I hope it happens.

To be honest, I don’t want Lebron to come to the Bulls. For some reason, this last series between the Bulls and Cavs really made me like rooting against him and I would much prefer them getting Wade or a equal-caliber star. Then, the homegrown, Chicago tag-team of D-Rose and Wade could go toe-to-toe with Lebron, hoping that he stays in Cleveland. That is how I’d like this whole situation to unfold.

@KTFC: There is something storybook about that and it would be very cool. LeBron though. I mean LEBRON. Can’t say no to that.

@ktfc you are a moron, yes i didn’t like him either during the series either but i got over it, he’s best in the NBA and when all is said and done will go down as a top 5 greatest ever. Idiots like you make our city franchises weak.

Are championships the only factor by which we measure our enjoyment of a sports team? Even if they were composed of suit-wearing robots that didn’t give a shit about the city or their fans? Now, I’m not saying that Lebron is a suit-wearing robot, but I’m trying to make a point that the composition of a team definitely influences its likeability and how we remember the team long after they’ve disbanded. Will the Bulls be really good if they get Wade, and possibly win several championships? Yes. Will their ceiling be slightly lower than if they got Lebron? Yes. But I’m ok with that. There is no way that this type of opinion makes “our city franchises weak”, because they will still be really good if they got somebody like Wade.

Broussard reminds me of a vampire. That’s all.
