Wow, my first 2-0 week!!  Too bad my online sportsbook account doesn’t really have much to show for it.  How can I fix that?  Obviously by stepping up my sports betting online and doing my best to reload.  There are a bunch of good games this week, but I think we picked the most exciting (but maybe not the most meaningful – see game #2 below).

SUNDAY, 2/14 at 12:00 pm CST: #16 Ohio State @ Illinois (CBB on CBS)

  • StevieY19 (11-5) OSU over Illinois: The Illini have been hot recently and swept the Buckeyes last season, but I think Ohio State pulls it off this time. Illinois has been very streaky this year and Evan Turner will put the most recent run to an end.
  • South Side Sheik (10-6) Illinois over OSU: OSU just completed the cupcake portion of it’s Big Ten slate, this will be a rude wake up call at Assembly Hall. McCamey and Turner will neutralize each other and look for Mike Tisdale to be the difference maker in this game.
  • Stormin Norman (9-7) Illinois over OSU: Did anyone think I would pick otherwise? They have proven they can beat good teams at home and if McCamey can play smart they have a great shot at winning. I-L-L…you know the rest.
  • Javier Sandooski (8-8) OSU over Illinois:  I REALLY want more than anything for Illinois to make the tournament, but I think Turner is just too good and this dream is just about over after wins against MSU and Wisco.  I really hope I’m wrong, but I just want to pass Stormin Norman in the standings.

SUNDAY 2/14 at 6:00 pm CST: NBA East @ NBA West (NBA All-Star Game on TNT)

  • StevieY19 (11-5) NBA East over West: I really have no idea, but if Kobe is in fact out then the league’s favorite star will be on the East. Stern wouldn’t fix the all-star game though. Right?
  • South Side Sheik (10-6) NBA East over West: The East could throw out a lineup of Dwyane Wade, Joe Johnson, Lebron James, Chris Bosh and Dwight Howard and you’d have 4 FA’s-to-be who would want to convince those final skeptics that they’re worth the money in the coming off season. Or we’ll see Lebron and D-Wade running around with fashionable bandaids and varsity sweaters again.
  • Stormin Norman (9-7) NBA East over NBA West: No Kobe? I mean he might play but not much. LeBron and the East will dominate this game.
  • Javier Sandooski (8-8) NBA East over NBA West: LeBron is going off, I can feel it.  Has anyone watched him playing recently?  He has handled actual NBA games (you know, where players actually defend) like it is the all-star game.  What will happen on Sunday when no one is playing defense?  I can’t wait to find out.
