Qualified Picks – 1/7

qualified picksNFL playoffs and BCS bowl games is the best time for sports betting online.  What makes gambling easier than QBs choking under pressure, weak coaches blowing a game due to poor time-management or a regular season stud (cough, LT2, couch) failing to show up in a playoff game?  This is a great time to take advantage of an online sportsbook and get some cash flow rolling.

There are some great games this week, we took a look at two of the biggest and closest.  Here we go:

THURSDAY, 1/7 at 7:00 pm CST: #2 Texas vs. #1 Alabama (BCS Championship at Rose Bowl)

  • StevieY19 (4-2) Texas over Alabama- I seriously hate Alabama. Mark Ingram did not deserve the Heisman Trophy and he’ll join a long line of under-performing winners in National Championship games. Colt McCoy’s experience will be the difference in this close one that sputters to a start and gets exciting in the second half.
  • Stormin Norman (3-3) Alabama over Texas: Colt McCoy is amazing, I’ll admit it. The problem is the stingy Bama defense. They will overwhelm him on Thursday. Not only that but Ingram should have won the Heisman [sic] and he will prove it Thursday night. [editor's note: what a dumbass]
  • South Side Sheik (3-3)Alabama over Texas: Ingram did win the Heisman, so I have no idea what Stormin Norman is talking about but I do like the slightly menacing tones of warning Longhorns fans “Oh you better believe he’ll prove it.”
  • Javier Sandooski (2-4) Texas over Alabama.  It seems like most of the country forgot how good Texas was, and is also overrating Alabama because of the final week of the regular season.  Saban deserves to go to hell and I think McCoy and the Longhorns take him down.

SATURDAY, 1/9 at 7:00 pm CST: Eagles vs. Cowboys

  • StevieY19 (4-2) Philly over Dallas- When it comes to the playoffs, or almost anything really, McNabb>Romo. The Dallas defense has been outstanding lately, but I think the Eagles keep the Cowboys’ playoff drought going.
  • Stormin Norman (3-3) Dallas over Philadelphia: Both these teams love to choke in the playoffs, but Dallas proved they can get the better of Philly on anyone’s home turf, but especially at home. I know its tough to beat the same team twice in a row in the NFL, but the Cowboys were too convincing last week. Dallas’s defense has finally figured it out and they will win their first playoff game in more than a decade.
  • South Side Sheik (3-3) Dallas over Philadelphia: A team can only go so far on Campbell Soup. I predict Westbrook gets concussed, McNabb throws up in the fourth quarter, and Desean Jackson suffers a separated shoulder, his shoulder literally being separated from his body after a punishing hit at the hands of Orlando Scandrick. Cowboys O is clicking, while Philly’s is boom or bust.
  • Javier Sandooski (2-4) Philly over Dallas – Dallas choking in the winter is my favorite holiday tradition of late.  Wade Phillips is a worthless coach – not that Andy Reid isn’t, but McNabb can stay more composed under pressure than Romo can.  Look for Dallas to finally lose a game because their punter’s punt hits the scoreboard.
