Chicago Bear Gaines Adams Dies
The news is very preliminary at this point, but Bears newly acquired defensive end Gaines Adams has been pronounced dead at a hospital in South Carolina:
The 26-year-old was reportedly taken to the emergency room at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood County where he died, County Coroner James T. Coursey told the Greenville News.
While many were critical towards Bears management about the trade which sent a 2nd round pick to the Bucs in exchange for Gaines Adams, the man himself seemed like a good guy. Our prayers go out to his family and friends in this difficult time. More news to come as it becomes available. An autopsy will be administered later today to determine the cause of death.
***UPDATE: ProFootballTalk.com is reporting that the cause of death was a heart attack.
