Bears Apologize For Shitty Season But Don’t Correct Mistakes

The Bears had a rough season this year.  Although they finished 7-9, things were not pretty.  It became clear that although there were numerous issues (injuries, Cutler sucking, offensive line lacking talent, etc), the coaching staff and Jerry Angelo were largely to blame.  Well the Bears would like to apologize for how bad the season went:

That was the full page ad the organization took out in the Sun-Times and Trib today.  I want to forgive them, I really do.  The thing is my mother always used to tell me that an apology is just words and is meaningless unless you intend on doing something different to prevent the mistake from happening again.  So while I appreciate the apology, can we PLEASE get rid of Lovie and Angelo?  Or at least Ron Turner, I mean that would be a serious apology.

Lovie Smith has to go.

How can a NFL team have a head coach named Lovie.

I would also like to apologize for personally destroying the hopes and dreams of so many Bears fans. I know you would have preferred to stick with Kyle Orton, but my coach in Denver was a real dick and I really really really wanted to play on a team that can protect their QB. If you give me one more chance I just know I’ll connect on a few more of those long balls into triple coverage and the public will love me for the hero that I always knew I was.

Yours truly,

JC

You guys should be thankful to have a QB with any potential like Jay Cutler. You guys should be glad you go rid of my pussy arm.

You know, that wasn’t an apology. It was a thank-you to the fans for not totally abandoning them. Nowhere in there is a hint of apology.

“extending gratitude” is not an apology. They’re saying “thanks for hanging in through the shitty season”, not “sorry for the shitty season”.

Thanks for apologizing Jay, everyone here in Denver thinks you suck. Being a Donk is hard though! Thank god they didn’t notice I brought them the worst season they have had in 3 years. Whew. You are a hard act to follow. Statistically speaking. (# of wins every single year on the Donks versus Donks wins under my tenure in my allegedly breathtaking comeback year) One thing I didn’t realize because I don’t read books or try to study sports at all is that the Donks always muck up their season in the second half, I guess it wasn’t you afterall! Well, thankfully I myself have dodged a Howitzer shell on this season because I had a terrible offensive line, receivers and running back. Oh wait! THAT IS YOU! Hahaha. Much love, Kylez

Been quite a theme this fall for apologies. The best apology would be to come back and win the North.

ha ha ha ha ha ha, that was priceless.
Let’s not forget that the NFL once had a coach whose name was Bum.
