Most reports I’ve seen said the incident took place around 2:30 AM. Wouldn’t be surprised if the parents were there earlier, but that’s a hell of a late dinner if it really happened at closing time.

ESPN was reporting this morning on SportsCenter that Clausen was eating dinner with his parents before the incident. When they left the restaurant, a fan approached yelling something at him. Clausen said something back and the fan responded by “sucker punching” Clausen. Either the first reports of this incident are way off, or ESPN is covering Clausen’s ass.
