Brad Miller Sinks Game-Winner But Bulls Lose on Questionable Officiating

Are you kidding me right now? The Bulls are down 1 with just 0.3 seconds left and Miller catches the inbounds pass and sinks a quick off-balance 20 footer just as the buzzer goes off.  The refs call it good and the Bulls go crazy.  Then the refs go back to review the tape, and all of a sudden (well it took like 10 minutes) BAM, the refs call off the bucket and run into the clubhouse escorted by security.

So here’s the clip, you tell me what you think (keeping in mind the call on the court was a made basket):

Here is my problem, all the angles look like it was out of his hands except one, which looked like it could have gone either way.  So how does that result in anything but a bucket and a win?

I think the refs really messed up on that one

The refs were so sure about overturning the call from Brad Miller, but were so BLIND when Carmelo tripped Luol. Yea, that’s what I call bad officiating.

@Arci: Agreed! The blatant trip was ridiculous. The officiating was definitely questionable at best last night.

perhaps the refs took into account what had happened in the span of half a second – grabbing a rebound and calling a TO, inbounding the ball and catching and shooting a jumper – and realized that there is no way to accomplish that unless some joker homer is playing fast and loose with the time.

first, there is some rule that requires a player tip in a ball if there are less than like 0.5 seconds – miller’s foot was definitely on the floor when he caught the ball. second, if the bulls were a half decent team they would have won without having to rely on a lucky as hell last second shot. hated.

I don’t know how anyone can put any stock in a video that depicts Brad Miller jumping as high as it appears. Fake!
