Which of These Two is Less Stable: Milton Bradley of The Chicago Cubs, Or The Game Jenga by Milton Bradley? [Someone Else Might Want Him Edition]
As much as I am a Bradley apologist (and from all the shit I take here and elsewhere about it, I’ve come to realize I am), I still understand that he is not connecting with fans, his teammates, management or the media. His temper tantrums and immature reactions to the media are not justified by his less than perfect season. While I blame the media and management as much as Bradley, the Cubs should look to move him in any reasonable trade that comes to the table. But who would want that bloated contract and unstable personality you ask? The Padres, that’s who:
Earlier Friday, San Diego general manager Kevin Towers seemed to make an early pitch for Bradley, who has two years and $21 million left on his three-year contract.
…”I haven’t had any calls from Jim about him,” Towers told the Web site, ”but people kind of know what players we target. We have to take chances sometimes. We took a chance with Milton the first time, and he actually played pretty well.
”We could be in the market for an outfielder. I’m not saying it’s necessarily Milton. But our experience with him was rather a positive one. It wasn’t really a negative one.”
Sure he had a decent half season in San Diego a couple years ago, until he blew out his knee arguing with an ump that is. If the Cubs get nothing in return of value but are able to unload his contract, they should absolutely do it.

Reminds me of when the only way we were getting rid of Ben Wallace’s contract was getting Larry Hughes.

In other news, Stormin Norman helped We Pound Hard of the Lincoln Park South coed flag football team go 3-0 last night behind some gritty defense and stealth offensive prowess. Actually, the game ball went to Stormin’s lady friend, who had a pivotal conversion catch and a defensive deflection in the waning minutes of the game. First place, baby.

@ KTFC: We should do a player profile on my all-star girlfriend. I’ve never been more turned on by her. Didn’t help that I had like 3 catches for 20 yards and 1 run for 2 yards though.

I think its assumed that the Cubs will be paying most of Miltons contract wherever he goes unless they trade for someone like Vernon Wells or Barry Zito.
