Cubs Fan Paid $42 Million Contract to Cheat, Fails Like Rest of Overpaid Roster

The Cubs are desperate this year.  At this point in the season we have to face facts.  As I was discussing with the Zoner from Zoner Sports yesterday, we can’t treat this Cubs team like the team that came out of spring training looking like it would win 100 games.  Even though the payroll says otherwise, in the real world, the Cubs are overall an extremely overpaid team that is hoping to get hot down the stretch here to make a run and just squeak by the Cardinals to win the division.

Do I think the Cubs organization literally had anything to do with the fan that spilled beer on Shane Victorino last night? No, obviously not, even though if they had it would have probably looked exactly like it did.  They would have overpaid the fan as a desperate move to help the team win, and as all overpaid employees in the Cubs organization, his efforts were for naught.  Here’s the video:

Respect for Victorino on keeping his focus and making that catch. It’s idiot fans like that that give Cubs bleacher fans a bad name. Unfortunately, most Cubs bleacher fans deserve that bad name. Oh well, another ridiculous story that doesn’t involve winning for the lovable losers. Ho-hum.  Also in case you haven’t heard, the fan that actually threw the beer was not the taunting fan, but the guy next to him, who seems to have eluded Cubs officials and the authorities.

(Side note: StevieY19 is convinced I was the fan who threw the beer.  I have at least 6 witnesses that can vouch for my location between the hours of 8:00pm and 10:00pm.  Hopefully that puts all the speculation to rest)
