Two Racist Organizations Trade a Mark for a Brian

Who can forget his unusual batting stances?

On Tuesday afternoon the White Sox laid claim to the title of “The Most Racist Organization in Baseball” when they traded the extremely caucasian Brian Anderson.

This was clearly a move made with the overwhelming support of Ozzie Guillen (Venezuela) and Kenny Williams (Berkeley, CA).

In a closely related move designed to cement the White Sox racist status, the wise latina, Sonia Sotamayor, has been named General Counsel for Chicago’s American League team, replacing John Corvino.

As the White Sox ironically attempt to become “less white”, the Red Sox continue in that time honored Boston tradition of racial profiling. First there was the trade to get rid of Hanley Ramirez, which returned Josh Beckett (Texas) and Mike Lowell (quietly Puerto Rican/Cuban but can also claim Irish/German heritage). Then there was the ridding of Nomar Garciaparra. Adios Pedro Martinez, we’ll keep Tim Wakefield who can barely crack 80 mph on his fastball. And the most glaring example: Manny Ramirez for Jason Bay (practically translucent).

In Mark Kotsay, the Red Sox rid themselves of a player who had grown too close to the last of the holdovers on the Boston squad: David Ortiz (pictured), Ramon Ramirez and Manny Delcarmen.

New head of Fenway ballpark security, Sargeant James Crowley, formerly of the Cambridge Police Department, explained that last week Kotsay had some locker problems after a matinee game. Kotsay and Ortiz attempted to open his locker with some Icy-Hot and a Louisville Slugger. Crowley refused to speculate whether these two events were related.
