Upon further review, I recant my previous statement about BG. I forgot his rookie year, the playoffs, and “Air Gordon”. I agree with Ethan, he deserves to be on this list.

Great article…its a shame that Chicago has so many failed prospects. It’s especially troubling with the Bears because these weren’t just overhyped saviors by the chicago media; Salaam and Enis were consensus can’t miss stars.
Two notes:
Joe Borchard was given 3 opportunities with the big league club and sucked all three times.
Even though he was not a prospect, Jamie Navarro should be on the list. He was a solid top of the rotation starter with Cubs and then signed a big free agent deal with the Sox in 1997 and was supposed to be the missing piece. Instead, he managed to lead the league in runs allowed that year and had a WHIP of 1.7 during his south side tenure

1. There were never really expectations that Ben Gordon was going to take the Bulls anywhere. He was a good college player that was expected to play a nice complimentary role in the NBA.

2. I’ll give you Jay Williams. But I don’t think the buzz was there given his short time in Chicago. The buzz on Derrick Rose is definitely much, much greater.

3. Do we want to include Rich Hill in this conversation? What about Samardzija?
