Lou Takes Out Anger On Cubs Travel Secretary, Cubs Still Lose
The Cubs have been slumping lately. It’s not even that one or two players can’t hit, the whole team has just completely shorted out at the plate. Don’t fear, Cubs fans. Lou Piniella will use his powers of anger and frustration to fix our hitting woes. Here’s the plan:
While reporters were in the clubhouse interviewing players, manager Lou Piniella was railing at longtime traveling secretary Jimmy Bank about the team’s new, downtown hotel, according to Rick Hummel’s report in Thursday’s St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
“I don’t care about pleasure,” Piniella yelled, referring to the plush hotel the team is staying in. A casino is nearby.
Yeah Lou! Let that secretary know who’s boss. The Cubs still got swept by the Cards last night, but f#$% pleasure! Here’s an idea for you Lou: how about you take the slumping guys out of the lineup, put in Hoffpauir and Koyie Hill who are both seeing the ball well, and maybe move Fonzy over to 2nd so you can get Reed more ABs in the outfield? Or yell at random Cubs employees, whatever works.

Which free agent signing was worse? Milton Bradley as the new left fielder, or George Costanza as the new assistant to the traveling secretary?
