You Tricked Me Good Sun-Times
The Chicago sports media is covering all different angles of the Cutler trade, real and imaginary. In general the reaction seems to be positive with some understandable cynicism after years of poor quarterbacks. Rick Morrissey over at the Tribune obviously took an extremely negative view, but that’s expected from a douchebag like him.
The Sun-Times, however, played a nice little trick on me, and it worked! On their sports front page there is a list of headlines. Under Cutler stories, one of the headlines reads:
Already, a fight with a teammate?
Hmmm. Obviously any Bears fan is going to click that. I couldn’t believe it, there are already problems with Cutler and his teammates? I don’t think he’s even come to Chicago yet. So I clicked on the link, and what was the story about?
Bears center Olin Kreutzmay have a surprise guest sitting next to him Sunday night at the UIC Pavilion to watch World Extreme Cagefighting action, because quarterback Jay Cutler apparently is a mixed-martial-arts fan and has been invited to attend the event.
Oh Sun-Times, your misleading teasers will be missed when your shoddy tabloid-esque paper goes under.
