This year’s playoffs promo was done by Kanye West.  It’s pretty good:

But it’s nothing compared to this famous promo from a couple years ago, which is by far my favorite:

But none beat the original NBA on NBC theme. It gives me chills just hearing it. Memories of Jordan and Pippen and the glory days flash through my head whenever I hear it. Fastforward to about 1:25 if you don’t give a shit about how John Tesh came up with the song:

There are few things in life that I love more than the old NBA on NBC openings. Here’s a classic one from 1991, where Marv Albert speculates in the opening montage whether Michael Jordan will go down as one of the greatest athletes to never win a championship (with scrolling images of people such as Ernie Banks and a certain football player that would become much more infamous than famous a few years later). It’s surreal to look back on the widely-held belief at that time that MJ would never win because he was supposedly “too selfish” of a player.
