But I met Norm Van Lier at a bar in Chicago one day a few years ago. He was as charismatic as they come - everyone at the place knew him. He seemed to be everyone's friend. It was just one of those chance meetings that happen every now and then. I was saddened to hear that he had died. The tribute was well earned. I’m not a huge basketball fan.
