Talking Midwest Bracket
The tournament actually starts in the Midwest bracket with a game of almost no significance tonight between Morehead St. and Alabama St. No offense to these teams, but this is not something that people want to watch, but watch we will. The winner of this game will be greeted by Louisville and their full-court press.
What the #1 overall seeded Cardinals lack in interest for their first round game, it’s more than made up for with the second. If Ohio State can get by Siena in the first round, the Buckeyes will be waiting for Louisville in Dayton, Ohio on Sunday.
The first round games in Miami certainly have the potential to offer a couple of upsets. In the 12-5 game, Arizona will bid for the upset against Utah and the Wildcats definitely have the talent to pull it off. Utah probably didn’t deserve a 5-seed and Arizona probably didn’t deserve a bid at all, but this one could be a fun game to watch with the talent on Arizona and Utah’s defense and, you know, Utah-ness. Jordan Hill vs. Luke Neville is a great match-up on the inside. Don’t sleep on Cleveland State either; the Vikings showed they can pull the upset when they beat Syracuse on the road early in the season. Wake Forest took care of all their easy games to start the year, then beat UNC to grab the #1 ranking for a week or so, but have showed flaws lately with losses to four non-tournament teams in the second half of the year.
North Dakota State seemed pretty excited when they drew Kansas in the tournament, but the Jayhawks should be fine here. KU has lost two of their last three games, but in their last five games they have taken down the other three notable Big 12 teams in Texas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. West Virginia has the potential to be a sleeper in this region, but Dayton is their first round match-up and the at-large team from the Atlantic 10 already took down one Big East squad in Marquette earlier this year.
The Minneapolis section of the region has Michigan State looking like it is clearly the best team, but that’s what we thought in the Big Ten Tournament too. Still, Boston College is probably a little overrated as a 7-seed and State is too disciplined to lose to the Trojans.
Predictions sure to ruin your bracket:
Sweet 16 lock: Michigan State
Upset Pick: USC over Boston College
Bold Call: West Virginia to the Sweet 16.
Best Game: Thursday- Sorry, all games are Friday.
Friday- WVU vs. Dayton, 2PM et.

He’s a dead fancy-boy that signed the Declaration of Independence. I don’t think he has a shot.
Boom, scouted.

So you’re writing off Robert Morris College just like that? Did you do any scouting on them at all?
