NQTC is Getting Caught up in the Madness
There are times during the year that are just plain awesome. I’m not sure that any of them are quite as good as the middle of March through the start of April. This week we have conference tournaments, bubble talk, and Selection Sunday at the tail end of the weekend. Then we get a few days to fill out the brackets, do some gambling while the law looks the other way, and then erase our entire bracket and fill it in again because Digger Phelps agreed with our final four.
We at NQTC are squarely on the hype train that is March Madness and we have a couple of announcements regarding it. First, we have created a group for the Tournament Challenge through ESPN. It’s open for anyone to join, so you don’t need a password or anything and it doesn’t cost a penny. All you have to do is follow this link, create your entry, then search for the group “Not Qualified to Comment” to join up. Then fill out your bracket after the field is announced this Sunday.
We even have a prize! NCAA pools can get pretty outrageous in terms of buy-ins and payouts, but we’re just going to keep it simple. Join for free and if you win, we’ll give you a t-shirt. We’re pretty sure this will be a NQTC shirt that is currently in the works, but it could very well be an extra Bulls shirt from Stormin’ Norman’s closet.
Secondly, we’re going to be watching the games on Thursday at the bar. If you haven’t experienced four games going on at once on huge TVs with drink and food specials, it’s like an out of body experience. The location is Duffy’s Tavern & Grill at 420 W. Diversey. Last year it was $25 and you got tap beer, well drinks, and a food buffet from 11AM to 3PM.
