Harry Lughes Shows Up In New York, Helps Bulls Indirectly
Remember back in November, when a certain blue-haired Harry Lughes showed up seemingly from out of nowhere and helped lead the Bulls to some much-needed victories? Well he left abruptly, followed shortly thereafter by Larry Hughes return and subsequent benching. As most Bulls fans know, Hughes was traded a few weeks ago to the Knicks. The question on most people’s minds was, “Did Harry Lughes go with him?” It appears he did.
Lughes, known for his short stints and lucky shots, apparently has shown up in New York recently. Whether it is the system D’Antoni runs, which is perfectly-tailored to Lughes style of play, or just that Lughes was getting bored lurking in the shadows, it appears Lughes is back. Unlike Hughes, Lughes seems to have some sort of loyalty to his former team, the Bulls.
Last night against the Bucks, which were tied with the Bulls for 8th in the East, Lughes dropped 39 points. This helped his new team overcome the Bucks and helped his old team hang onto their playoff spot. I’m not sure if it’s the blue hair or what, but that Lughes is a force to be reckoned with, averaging 21 points in his last 5 games.
