I'm about 99.9% certain my wife didn't get it, and I'm guessing that since so many people watch the Oscars, that number is probably not far off from the general population of people "in" on the joke. Also, the way he slipped that in there, it seemed like it's part of his regular vernacular, which makes Will Smith cooler than pretty much everyone else in Hollywood. I was also watching and that was probably the highlight of the show for me.
