I’m sure most of you have seen the video of Brian Collins stumbling over the sports news.  If you haven’t seen it, here’s where the magic started. The peak of this video’s sweetness comes about 2:25 in.

After creating an Internet storm, the fumbling announcer and his “boom goes the dynamite” catchphrase got a reference from Will Smith last night on the Oscars, when Smith fumbled over a line of his own.

Now to us, that’s hilarious, but you have to wonder how many people in the audience actually understood what the hell he was talking about.  No not really, it was just hilarious.

I was watching and thought this was hilarious. No one around me got the joke.

I was also watching and that was probably the highlight of the show for me. I’m about 99.9% certain my wife didn’t get it, and I’m guessing that since so many people watch the Oscars, that number is probably not far off from the general population of people “in” on the joke.

Also, the way he slipped that in there, it seemed like it’s part of his regular vernacular, which makes Will Smith cooler than pretty much everyone else in Hollywood.
